Through continuous testing, customer feedback and working with companies such as WP Suspension, KYB and JRi we've established a vast range of suspension solutions for Motocross, Enduro and ATV riders. We offer everything from servicing, spring upgrades and personalised valving through to full works components.
For the ultimate in MX suspension performance we can supply the JRi MX shock as used by James Stewart in the JGR MX team, the WP Trax shock with its innovative rebound system and the WP MXMA Cone Valve Motocross Fork.
Off road suspension units are subject to a severe amount of punishment and torture, over ten laps the suspension can cycle up and down over 160,000 times and with fork velocities in the region of 8m/s in a harsh environment of sand grit and mud, they really take a lot of abuse.
Forks can flex around 70mm during hard use putting a massive strain on the bushes. Keeping your forks and shock regularly serviced (after every 20 hours use) not only prolongs the life of the components it maintains the performance and consistency of the forks and shock, waiting till something goes wrong to have the parts looked at can end up being very expensive.
The starting point in upgrading any off road suspension is ensuring the spring rates match your weight, riding style and the terrain you are riding on. The correct spring rates at both ends maximise the available amount of travel and help maintain the geometry of the bike.
A High Performance Spring has a high stiffness to mass ratio, in other words it is as light as possible for a particular rate. Manufactured from chrome silicon steel, shot peened, heat-treated and pre-set for length, they are the finest springs available. We test all our springs before despatch or fitting to ensure they are the exact rate you require.
A fork and shock revalve customises the damping of the bike to suit your ability, riding style and the terrain your riding on. Motocross, Supercross, Enduro and Supermoto all have different damping requirements as do different terrains such as sand, hard pack and rocks.
The aim is to eliminate any harshness through the suspension, giving a more consistent damping action through the stroke resulting in a more balanced feel and good bottoming resistance. The improvement in ride quality will increase grip improve cornering and jumping with better stability and reduced rider fatigue.
The biggest problem with WP PDS shocks is that they lack progression, they are either too stiff on the small bumps or they bottom out on the big ones. The telescopic needle has an innovative design that is much longer than stock, gradually tapered, and collapsible.
This gives a much smoother more progressive stroke allowing the bike to track over the bumps more precisely and prevents the shock bottoming. We have also found that the shock rides higher in the stroke improving the steering of the bike.
For riders restoring 80's motocross bikes or racing in the EVO class we have spare parts and new 4054 multi adjuster forks available, please contact us for details.
Our Services Page has a full range of performance coatings to restore or customise your suspension.
The JRi MX shock is custom designed to meet the incredibly demanding requirements of the supercross and motocross arenas. JRi spent a long time developing and testing the MX shock working with teams such as the Joe Gibbs Racing MX Team.
The information gained enabled JRi to offer a superior shock and join JGR/MX in their 2010 X-Games victory. The MX shock offers superior response time and control with JRi’s proprietary low friction bearing design and unique piston configuration.
The WP TRAX shock uses a dual rebound system to maintain maximum levels of grip by allowing the wheel to follow the terrain not skip over it.
The system is set up to eliminate the usual trade off between chassis balance and traction, when the wheel is in contact with the ground the Trax is inactive, as soon as the wheel leaves the ground it becomes active and the wheel is pushed back to the ground in milliseconds maximising the grip available keeping the bike driving forward.
We carry a full range of spare parts to keep your WP, Ohlins, KYB, Showa, Marzocchi or Reiger forks and shock working at their optimum performance level from service parts such as seals and bushes to shafts and bodies.
We carry spare parts for Custom Axis ATV shocks.
