Reactive Suspension - Off Road

Through testing, customer feedback and our own experiences in re-building most manufacturers shocks we quickly established that Custom Axis are without doubt the best ATV shock absorbers available.

We supply them custom built by the factory to suit your quad specification, and use. We can supply them in standard or long travel with various adjuster options to suit every use and budget.

We have a full service facility to keep your shocks in prime condition throughout the season.

Custom Axxis, Inc. is committed to producing the highest quality suspension components and offering the best service in the industry. Serious racers who invest in high performance suspension components know that shock absorbers are crucial components on any winning vehicle. In fact, most mechanics and racers will agree that the shock absorber is the most important part of a suspension system. The goal for Custom Axis racing shocks has been to produce a line of excellence, in quality and performance. Their shocks were designed exclusively for the tough conditions of ATV racing. Their dedication to refining and developing their products to meet these demands is why top professional riders count on them to win!

Custom Axxis shocks are designed and manufactured from the finest materials available, using the latest in CAD/CAM technology. They do not use cast or welded parts. Damper bodies are machined from a special smooth burnish ID steel tubing which is then treated with a special surface enhancement process that offers excellent wear and corrosion properties.

Shock eyelet pivots utilize aircraft quality, teflon lined spherical bearings with stainless steel mounting spacers. All aluminium internal and external components are machined from 7075-T6 billet or 6061-T6 tubing and then hard anodised. Hard anodising provides a durable external finish and prevents contamination of the suspension fluid.

Damping pistons are designed utilizing high flow, low turbulence ports for the higher shaft speeds of today's long travel suspensions.

The compression and rebound adjusters are also designed for high speed shaft displacement, including a stationary damping piston inside the reservoir that can be tuned without affecting low speed damping.

Custom Axxis shocks use 5/8" diameter shafts that will handle far more damping loads, without fatigue, than other shock manufacturers.

Penske Supermotard Damper

Supermotard suspension tuning, until now, has been ruled by compromise, suspension tuners have been forced to compromise between either motocross, or road race settings to suit rider preference, either direction has involved less than optimal tuning characteristics at some point on the racetrack.

The design of the shock has very linear low speed damping giving a stable road race feel for tarmac sections allowing consistent corner entries, early throttle application, and better drive out of corners. When transitioning to dirt sections the shock provides a digressive damping curve to eliminate harshness and inspire rider confidence. To provide bottoming resistance when landing motocross style jumps, the shock damping increases progressively at higher velocities. This three-stage damping setup instils the confidence necessary to attack all portions of the racetrack without compromise.

The Supermotard Damper comes standard with a 1” rear ride height reduction from OEM. In addition, the ride height adjuster, which has proven so valuable on road racing shocks, has been built in to allow for up to 1.25” of adjustment at the rear wheel without removing the shock from the bike.

The Supermotard Damper offers desirable features that are not available on typical “re-worked” stock suspension. Damping is triple adjustable, offering high and low speed compression adjustment as well as a single rebound adjuster. The Penske Supermotard Damper is up to 2-1/2 pounds lighter than OEM dampers that it replaces. Further weight savings of up to 5- 1/2 pounds can be achieved with an optional Titanium spring.

Telescopic Needle for WP PDS Shocks

The biggest problem with WP PDS shocks is that they lack progression, they are either too stiff on the small bumps or they bottom out on the big ones. The telescopic needle has an innovative design that is much longer than stock, gradually tapered, and collapsible.

This gives a much smoother more progressive stroke allowing the bike to track over the bumps more precisely and prevents the shock bottoming. We have also found that the shock rides higher in the stroke improving the steering of the bike.
