Reactive Suspension offer a wide range of motorcycle front fork products and services. Fork servicing, fork re-valving and fork cartridge kit installation can all be carried out at our workshop. We also supply fork springs, cartridge emulators and damper rods along with spare parts such as fork seals and fork bushes.
The ultimate in Supersport / Superstock fork cartridges.
The worlds first gas pressurised cartridge system for fitment in standard forks, giving improved fork action under braking, better bump absorption and excellent outright grip.
They provide consistent, ultra smooth fade free damping over full race distance.
The AK-20 Cartridge Kit is a complete drop-in upgrade that replaces the stock poorly performing components with a pair of extremely high-tolerance cartridges. Modular in construction they can be swapped from bike to bike where only a small number of parts may need to be changed rather than the whole cartridge.
For bikes that don't have spring preload and rebound adjustment as standard the kit can be supplied with a set of replacement fork caps with those features added.
The AK20 kit is available for a vast number of bikes from supersport and superstock bikes to Goldwings and Harley Davidsons.
A necessary upgrade for racers, track day regulars and riders of Yamaha R1, R6, Suzuki GSXR 1000, Kawasaki ZX10, ZX6, ZX9, the kits give a very different damping characteristics for riders who push their suspension harder and want better performance on the road and track.
By selecting from a wide choice of components we can customise a kit to suit you and your bike.
A very cost effective tuning option for Ducati 916, 748, Aprilia Falco, Tuono, and Mille's fitted with Showa forks. These forks have a spring rate that's suitable for a wide range riders and a decent piston design straight from the factory, by re-valving them to give better damping characteristics the forks can be transformed.
A good tuning option for Suzuki GSXR 600, 750, all Honda's. These forks are fitted with forks that are under sprung and have a poor damping action, by changing the springs and re-valving them the performance can be improved significantly, this is a good option for road riders and occasional trackday use.
Piston upgrade kits for Ohlins R&T forks, Ohlins and K-tech 25mm cartridge kits, Suzuki Tl1000’s and early Fireblades. We are able to select from a wide choice of components to give damping characteristics that suit your use.
Damper rod forks are notorious for being both too harsh and too easy to bottom. Emulators make damper rod forks perform like cartridge forks. Emulators are tuneable valves that sit on top of the damper rods and are held in place with the main springs. They are simple to install and tuneable for all conditions and rider preferences.

CNC machined damper rods manufactured to improve the performance of the cartridge emulators, giving an improved compression and rebound action.
Typically standard damper rods have 2 pairs of holes at the bottom, they are manufactured from thin walled extruded steel. When installing emulators the manufacturers suggest adding an extra pair of holes above these holes, (adding the extra holes disables the damping function of the damper rod under compression allowing the emulator to take over). On some forks adding the extra holes creates problems at the bottom of the stroke, inside the fork tube is a floating check valve that has to pass these extra holes before the rebound can start to work, this gives a momentarily uncontrolled rebound right at maximum spring compression when maximum rebound damping is needed, once the check valve passes the holes the rebound then kicks in abruptly.
The Traxxion Dynamics Damper rods have thicker walls allowing them to be manufactured with larger holes negating the need for extra holes and without compromising strength. The smooth CNC'd finish of the Traxxion rod allows the floating valve to seal better minimising leakage.
When fitting emulators to standard rods some models benefit from having the rebound holes changed, with a standard rod this means brazing up the hole and re-drilling it, the Traxxion Rod already has the correct sized hole.
Put simply the Traxxion rod takes all the hard work, drilling, brazing etc out of fitting emulators with the bonus of improved performance.
A High Performance Spring has a high stiffness to mass ratio, in other words it is as light as possible for a particular rate. Manufactured from chrome silicon steel, shot peened, heat-treated and pre-set for length, they are the finest springs available. We test all our springs before despatch or fitting to ensure they are the exact rate you require.
Being a long narrow spring, fork springs bow as the compress, when they bow they rub on the inside of the fork tube, this rubbing action causes wear on the spring and contaminates the oil, by using a smaller O.D spring and internal buffer this wear and contamination is prevented. The buffers are available for 10mm and 12.5mm damper rods.
Upgraded compression adjusters allowing a wider and more accurate range of adjustment to optimise suspension set up.
We use N.O.K. brand oil and dust seals whenever possible. N.O.K. seals are the choice of every major manufacturer as their OEM spec equipment. We polish all fork stanchions prior to fitting new seals to remove any damage and reduce stiction to a minimum.
Fork bushes have a significant role to play in the action of the forks, not only are they the bearings that allow the forks to move smoothly up and down, they also have to withstand significant loads. Braking puts a massive load through the forks causing them to flex backwards, cornering puts lateral loads through the forks causing them to flex sideways. Wear in the bushes can lead to a stick-slip action making the forks feel harsh.
Our bushes are high performance composite bearings with a very low friction coefficient and high load bearing capability.
